Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop: she is the sole celebrity who transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream, and to become a pop icon worldwide. Swift is shedding her country roots as if it were a second-skin showing herself to be one of the best pop singers and songwriters of her time. Swift is able to tap into the current trend and create her unique. These skills were evident on her earliest hits especially the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out who she was and in the process finding the mass market. The album was a huge success, not just on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. Its Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me were the most important reasons. However, it did exceptionally well throughout the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the achievement and propelled Swift into the stratosphere of fame. Swift's popularity grew throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within the genre she was a part of. It was not long before she changed her strategy by releasing 2020's streamlined folklore (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
