Nicky Whelan, born 10 May 1980 in Australia, is a model and actress. The actress gained fame in Australia through her character Pepper Steiger which she played in the soap drama Neighbors in a series of ten episodes that aired between 2006 and 2007. In Hollywood it was her first time on two projects. First was Hollywood & Wine with which she portrayed a young, hopeful actress. In the 9th season Scrubs she was Maya who plays a attractive medical student. The show abruptly ended.  Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Juanita (nee Cordova) and Colby Carter.Her father is of English and Scots-Irish ancestry and her mother of a family that hails from Mexico and is of Mexican, Spanish, and French descent.
