Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of a number of novels. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news website, is a television personality an author and an philanthropist. Born in Greece but moved to England at the age of 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA at the level of economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was voted president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After graduation she made her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and when the publication of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched a voice-based website that provided critical views regarding the current political situation. Her status as a celebrity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views regarding news in the field of culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to stand as independently in the California recall election, to take over the Governor Davis. Aside from that she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Her rank was 12th on Forbes's list of the most influential female journalists. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the top 100 journalists. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of the group of media. This included many AOL brands at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. They were very close to her father, but it is her bond with her mother which shaped her. Her leadership skills were evident at an early age. When she was 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she was a member of the college debate Society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. She was a journalist television host, and a columnist after her graduation. Also, she appeared on an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
